Shepard Rd. between downtown St. Paul & 35 E.

A St.Paul cruiser will be semi-hidden, typically on the westbound side. He is operating the radar. I have seen as many as three motorcycle cops as chasers, on other occassions they use 1 or 2 cruisers. Their favorite appears to be a mile east of Otto & Shepard.

E. River Parkway, underneath Lake St Bridge

Bike cops hidden under bridge. They use radar guns to clock speed, then walk in the road in front of your car to pull you over. They pull over EVERYONE going over 25 mph, except for the lucky ones who drive by when the cops are busy writing a ticket.

Just over the Ford bridge coming from Minneapolis on 46th street

I have noticed marked and unmarked cars there. They will park off to the side of the road and step out in the street with the radar gun as you are coming down the St. Paul side of the bridge. I have seen as many as five officers steping out in the road to wave people over to write them a ticket. Guess what happens if you are not wearing a seat belt? Thats right a ticket for that on top of it.

I35E, from Downtown to south for 5 miles

Saint Paul, MinnesotaSep 01, 20010 Comments

Posted limit on the section of Interstate 35E is 45mph. Most traffic moves at 55 to 60. This section of freeway is controversial because the limit is low to supposedly reduce traffic noise. Most recently, the limit has been sustained in the face of citizen protest. Moving at 45mph means one travels slower than 95% of the traffic until traffic enforcement shows up with radar devices. The stretch of road affected is approximately 5 miles and the road is fully capable of 65mph.
