Hwy 15-401 heading N out of town

Right after you go through the town, hwy 52 splits off to the left. You start coming down a hill going out of town. There is some kind of furniture place on the right. Officer (name deleted) said he clocked me “coming down the hill going past the furniture store”. I was following a semi all the way through town. I told him, “I couldn’t have been speeding. The semi was going well below the speed limit through town.” He said, “You were catching up to the semi. You were going 56 in a 40.” I haven’t gotten a speeding ticket in 23 years!!! He wouldn’t give me a warning. He wouldn’t even drop it to 55 in a 40. Just slapped the full $185.63 fine on me. What a crock.

Small 35mph sign at the top of a hill, clearly BS speed trap. For a 2 cop town where the yearly income for a male is 25K (loser) they’ll not be giving out any warning tickets. Thank you officer J Shoemake for the warn southern hospitality.

Speed limit remains 35 after leaving town and turning off on 52/401. Downhill grade heading W on 52/401 adds to tendency exceed 35. Local cops regularly sit at bottom of hill, especially on weekends.

Hwy 52 Road near Left yielding turn Crossing

Officer hiding in church parking lot in un-marked white convertible. It was Sunday morning at 10:30 am and church lot was packed. No traffic. Cruise control set at 35 mph on Toyota Prius. Hit brake before yielding left turn on Hwy 52 north bound. Officer pulled us over 1/2 mile north on Hwy 52. Said we were driving 53 in a 35. I questioned officer. Officer Crowley said the 53 reading was still on his radar gun. I asked to see it and he said no, got nervous. I asked why and he said he didnt have to. I asked when the radar gun was last calibrated and he said this year. I asked for exact date and Crowley couldnt provide. Officer Crowley lied and gave us a ticket for driving through Society Hill with out of state tags. We are fighting this ticket.
