City Of San Antonio Bexar County Justice of the Peace Precinct 4

San Antonio, TexasDec 31, 20100 Comments

Since moving to their new location, the Precinct 4 Constabulary have basically become a Traffic Enforcement Department throughout the entire area (a map of JP Precinct 4 can be located here: http://www.bexar.org/elections/Electeds/JP4Map.pdf). The Prectinct 4 Constables have also bought new vehicles (White Dodge Chargers, clearly marked, interior lights, no top light bars, "Traffic Package" Pursuit Vehicles as pictured here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/40839801@N06/3877839689/) seemingly specifically for this purpose. They love the School Zones throughout the area and will normally be sitting off the streets running radar/lazers at multiple locations throughout the area every day. If you are on the streets in Precinct 4, keep your eyes open, don’t speed, and watch for the school zones! San Antonio Independent School District also started leaving the electric school zone lights on even when the schools are closed. Watch for this! You can still legally be ticketed as long as the school zone sign lights are on! The Constables also like to observe the streets where there are quick changes in the speed limit (example: along Southcross Avenue westbound between WW White Rd. and Pecan Valley Rd. from 40 mph to 35 mph near Pecan Valley Golf Course). Watch the signs!

Broadway in Alamo Heights, south of Nacodoches

The Alamo Heights cops love speed traps so much that they need drool buckets in their squad cars. The limit along Broadway is 30 mph, but the fuzz likes to hang by Alamo Heights High School and bust folks in the school zone. Don’t forget the cell phone ban there, too.

Lookout Canyon Road, Texas

San Antonio, TexasNov 24, 20101 Comments

Lookout Canyon south of 1604 and north of Toepperwein Rd. in San Antonio, and live Oak, Texas. This very small stretch of road has a 35 mph limit. No one can understand why since the rest of this road has a 40 0r 45 mph limit on it. Cops will wait all over it sometimes 2 or 3 at a time. They are Live Oak cops. I got pulled over once, but amazingly she let me go. I was doing 41 in a 35, I commented that the speed limit was 40, and she said no, everywhere else on the road but not here. I guess she felt like I wasn’t a big enough fish or felt sorry for me or whatever. I got a warning, but my husband AND daughter both got pulled over and got tickets. So beware!
