Stahl Road and Judson Road

San Antonio, TexasApr 15, 20114 Comments

A very narrow school zone that drops the speed from 40 down to 20. There are none of the required blinking yellow lights that identify a drop of 15 mph or more. The length of the school zone is about 100 yds. The nearest school is about 6 city blocks up Stahl Road. Approaching from north to south on Judson, the sign is obliterated with other signs and practically impossible to see in time. Approaching from the other way, the sign is right in the middle of a narrow curve and narrow lanes. If you are negotiating the curve with other cars, you will not see the sign. A young motorcycle cop sits there every day from 7am – 9 am. He will nab maybe 10 people in a days work. He sits on the outside of the zone and clocks you just prior to entering the zone. He had been sitting in the Shell driveway, but they asked him to move off their property if he was in the process of giving tickets. The convenience store across the street also asked them to not clock drivers while on their property. There has always been a school crossing at the light, which most people know about. The school zone signs were put up about 6 months ago. If you go through there at 25+ mph you will get nabbed.

Watch your speed especially during 7 to 9 am this is a big school zone trap because of no blinking school zone lights . Always see constables pulling over folks everyday. They stay very busy and cops love to hide under the overpass of IH 10

On E. Southcross Blvd. between Pecan Valley and Pecan Grove

San Antonio, TexasFeb 23, 20111 Comments

This is an appropriate location for a speed trap, but heading West the speed limit changes at the Pecan Valley Golf course bridge from 40 mph to 30 mph, but heading East, the speed limit changes at Pecan Grove from 30 mph to 40 mph. It’s very hard to observe these changes if one does not frequent this location. If anything, the speed limit should be regulated to an equal 30 mph speed limit on East Southcross Blvd., from Pecan Valley to W.W. White Rd. This section consists of multifamily housing, apartments, hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, and many other commercial business, but most important, schools. Let’s keep it equally controlled – and slow it down for the sake of young citizens.

the white unmarked dodge pulls people over on that short one mile stretch and if you are not doing that 40 to 45 going down that hill on your brakes or going up the hill at the speed it says she will pull you over and she barley got in her car after handing a ticket to a car driver and put her lights on and pulled over a motorcycle that was not even speeding down that hill before he passed the cop and the car ….plain and simple B.S.
