Portland, Oregon Speed Traps
N. Columbia Blvd, Between Portsmouth and Chautauqua
There is a small open field near where the railroad crosses the road, there is several times a week a patroller parked at the back of the field, which makes it not visible as you are approaching. I have been on this road every day this week at different times, and only one day was there no officer there!
I5 NB from Rosa Parks Way to Interstate Br-CARPOOL lane
Carpool lane violators beware!!! 1-2 motorcycle cops sit there at least 2 times a week. Whenever they are out, I know it by the significant amount of time it takes to get from downtown Portland to the Interstate bridge. It usually takes 10-15 minutes at 3:30 M-F, but when the cops are out writing tickets that time doubles and sometimes triples because of all of the single person vehicles trying to get out of the carpool lane at the last minute. They will still get you, I have seen it hundreds of times!! Don’t take the carpool lane if you are by yourself, you WILL get caught!!
SE Woodstock Blvd. – Near SE 56th Ave.
There is a van equipped with photo radar on both the eastbound and westbound sides of the street. At the westbound it is a block from the first 25 mph sign (speed changes from 35 to 25). At the eastbound it is a block Before the speed changes back to 35 mph. The vans are there relatively frequently.
SE Grand Ave. ( Hwy. 99 E) & Woodward St. (Adjacent to SE Powell Blvd.)
Heading North on Hwy. 99 E, speed limit reduces 3 times in about 1/2 mile. Heading south you are coming out of walled road construction. Police bikes and cruisers sit on both sides at Woodward St.
SW Canyon Rd uphill from SW 87th Ave
Most often on the North side of the street, this speed trap is usually a photo van on the shoulder to catch you on a corner as you head down the hill.
